Our Counsellors

Kandy Stephenson was born in Edmonton, AB, although she has lived most of her life here in Victoria. Kandy received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Victoria in 1983. In 1985 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and decided to complete her studies as a Christian Counsellor. In 1997, Kandy received her Master of Theological Studies in Counselling from Trinity Western University and Northwest Baptist Theological College. Kandy worked closely with Pastor Norm Harrison to develop the Christian counselling ministry here at Central Baptist Church and in 1995 the dream became a reality. Kandy has counseled with Citizen's Counselling Centre, Island Pastoral Services and Central Christian Counselling Services.

Dr. Alan Rendle was born in Victoria, BC. He attended Sunday school at Central Baptist Church and was baptized when he was a teenager by Dr. J.B. Rowell, the first pastor at Central. Alan received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Victoria and then a B.D. from Northwest Baptist Theological College. He took graduate studies at the University of Ottawa and obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology. Alan worked for over 25 years as a clinical psychologist in Prince Rupert, Maple Ridge, Salmon Arm and Victoria, mostly in community mental health centres. Alan has been working as a psychologist (Reg. #367) at Central Christian Counselling Service since 2002.

Cathy Fouracre was born in Victoria and completed her BA in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Victoria. She then attended Regent College, an International College of Christian Studies, and earned a Masters in Christian Studies (MCS). After teaching at a new Christian Liberal Arts College in Lithuania she returned to Victoria and in 2000 completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology at Uvic. Cathy is a registered member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and provides services covered under Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and some extended medical programs. Cathy is also certified in the Enneagram which is an ancient spiritual tool used to help people understand their motivations.
